Our project manager Hana Czajkowska had the opportunity to take part in the V4 Training for Research Project Managers, jointly organised by the Czech, Slovak, Polish, and Hungarian liaison offices. The training took place in Brussels from 9–11 March 2026 and offered not only a rich professional programme but also the city’s typical spring mix of sunshine and sudden heavy showers.

The first day focused on the policy landscape, networking, lobbying, and getting to know the other participants. Hana met RMAs not only from the V4 countries but also from Finland, Norway, Estonia, Belgium, and the Netherlands, creating a valuable space for exchanging experiences and establishing new international connections.

The second day offered unique insights into the work of project evaluators. Participants had the chance to hear their reflections on proposal assessment, including common pitfalls, good practices, and what makes a strong proposal stand out. The programme also included time for sharing good practices in project administration and management.

The final day centred on capacity building and the development of soft skills. A professional trainer led a two‑hour interactive workshop focused on communication, negotiation, and leadership in research settings, providing practical tools directly applicable to everyday project management work.

Overall, the training was exceptionally well balanced, combining professional learning, networking opportunities, and informal activities that supported meaningful connections across countries and institutions.
