Summer School for Czech Teachers
At the end of August, the Summer School of Entrepreneurship for Primary and Secondary School Teachers took place in Brno. The summer school was made possible thanks to the kind collaboration with LIPKA, specifically its entrepreneurship education team.
Throughout the week, participants had the opportunity to experience a variety of creative workshops, explore the possibilities and limitations of working with students’ emotions in school settings, gain inspiration for their teaching practice, enjoy activities focused on wellbeing and self-care, and meet inspiring figures from the world of entrepreneurship and innovation.
Among the guest speakers was Libor Hoření, a consultant at the South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC), who is known as the founder of the TopRecepty platform and co-founder of the crowdfunding platform Donio. Participants also met Broňa Sobotka, an English teacher who, despite believing as a child that he had no talent for languages, developed his own learning strategies as a person with dyslexia and dysgraphia. Today, he shares these methods with thousands of learners through his educational platform.
The final day of the programme was dedicated to a visit to the South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC), where participants were welcomed by Martin Dokoupil, a start-up consultant with more than 30 years of business experience. He now uses this expertise to mentor and support emerging companies and entrepreneurs.
The summer school brought together 16 participants from schools across the Czech Republic.
The programme offered a valuable opportunity for teachers to exchange experiences, explore new approaches to education, and develop skills that foster creativity, initiative, and resilience in both educators and students.
