Stakeholder Engagement and Focus Groups on Climate Education

From the very beginning of the project, we have actively involved a diverse group of stakeholders in our research preparation—including teachers, students, NGO experts, and government officials from various ministries.
In May and June, members of the Czech team organized several roundtable discussions and focus groups to gather valuable input on climate education at universities. We explored the current state of climate education, envisioned its ideal future, and identified key barriers preventing progress. Together, we discussed possible strategies to overcome these obstacles.
In addition, the Czech and Austrian teams met with primary and secondary school teachers, who provided important feedback on the structure of a forthcoming survey. This survey aims to explore what motivates teachers to integrate climate change topics into their teaching. The pilot is set to launch in erly October in Austrian secondary schools, followed by the main study in schools in Czechia, Austria and the Netherlands.
