Summer school: Working with Emotions in Climate Change Education

Climate change and other environmental problems bring new and important challenges to education, which have not yet received sufficient attention.

  • How should we address emotions in topics where an emotional response is not only frequent but, in many ways, necessary?
  • Can we overlook negative emotions in the educational process?
  • How can we integrate deeper emotional work into current or future education?
  • What do educators need to support effective climate education?

These are all questions we aim to explore at our Working with Emotions in Climate Change Education Summer School. If you are interested in environmental and climate education and their emotional dimensions, our summer school is just for you!

Organization details

The summer school will take place from September 3rd to September 7th, 2025 (Wednesday to Sunday) at the beautiful location of Kadlcův mlýn, which, while still part of Brno, is surrounded by nature. The admissions process is now closed, the summer school capacity is full.

All the organizational details for participants (accepted by the admissions committee) could be found here.

Final version of the programme will be uploaded in the second half of August.
